Mr. Binasali Kyebagadha is the Technical and Database Officer for the All We See Is Possibility (AWSIP) program, funded by Royal Dutch Visio, in the Faculty of Special Needs and Rehabilitation at Kyambogo University, Uganda. He is in charge of the Hi-Tech Visual Technologies Resource Centre of the AWSIP program, where he trains learners who are partially sighted and blind to effectively use assistive devices and technologies. Additionally, Binasali’s technical role involves organizing database systems, providing technical support to resource centers, and building the capacity of teachers in using assistive technology devices across ten (10) secondary schools, twenty-two (22) primary schools, and three (3) universities under the AWSIP program in Uganda.

Binasali is a specialist in adapted information communication technology (ICT) and teaches in the Department of Community and Disability Studies at Kyambogo University. Before joining the AWSIP program, Binasali worked as a project manager for the Mental Health Community Initiative in Uganda, where he provided psychosocial support services to persons with disabilities.

He holds a Master’s in Special Needs Education and a Bachelor’s in Community-Based Rehabilitation from Kyambogo University. His specialist skills include a Certificate in In-service and Installation Training of Index Embosser (Basic D V5, Everest-D V5, Fan Fold-D V5, and Braille Box V5) from Index Braille in Sweden, a Certificate in the Use of Low Vision and Blindness Technology Solutions, and a Certificate in Repair of Assistive Technology Devices from Vispero in the Netherlands. Additionally, he holds a Certificate in ICT Training for the Blind, a Certificate in Non-Governmental Organization Management and Development, and a Certificate in Training of Trainers from Makerere Institute of Management, Uganda.

Binasali has conducted numerous consultancy works, particularly in training on adapted ICT and designing learning materials for learners with visual impairments.
