Biography:
Jacinta Nyadoi is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Community and Disability Studies, Faculty of Special Needs and Rehabilitation at Kyambogo University, Uganda. She’s also the department’s examination coordinator and previously she was the ITSCP/Internship Coordinator.
Prior to becoming an assistant lecturer, Jacinta was a graduate fellow under Kyambogo University Graduate Fellowship where she was a teaching assistant for four (4) years in the department. Ms. Jacinta is a human rights professional holding a Master of Arts in Human Rights as well as a social worker with a Bachelor of Social Work and Community Development.
She has an early career professional training as a teacher with over twenty (20) years work experience as a teacher in various schools in Uganda. Her research interests are focused on disability rights, gender issues for women with disabilities, social empowerment for persons with disability, and she has supervised several undergraduate students’ research projects in the given research interest and other related areas.
Ms. Jacinta is an advocate of gender equity and equality and is passionate about girl child education. She spends much of her time providing career guidance and counselling to male and female students in the department and her community.
