The Department of Adult, Community and Lifelong Learning (DACoLL) at Kyambogo University has specialist staff who offer consultancy and technical support services in adult, community education and lifelong learning.

On-going Projects

National Diploma and Certificate Programme: The D of Adult, Community and Lifelong Learning (DACoLL), and Faculty of Engineering, Kyambogo University have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Uganda Business and Technical Education Board (UBTEB). The educational collaboration is to implement accredited national diploma and certificates programmes at Kyambogo University.

Andragogy Lab: Kyambogo University Andragogy Lab (KUAL), a lifelong learning promotion initiative in the Department of Adult, Community and Lifelong Learning (DACoLL), Kyambogo University, Uganda.  KUAL serves as a physical and virtual space for mutual learning through interactive processes involving a multidisciplinary team of researchers representing different aspects of the society. The Lab develops and run diploma, certificate and short courses that offers opportunities for continuing education and equip communities with knowledge and vocational skills needed to improve livelihoods.

KACESA: Kyambogo University Adult and Community Education Students Association (KACESA) is a students’ association in the department. It was incepted in 2002 by the inaugural lot of students on the Bachelor of Adult and Community Education (BACE) it has been impactful in the department for over 20 years. Completed Projects

Psychosocial Support and Financial Literacy Manual, 2023: In 2023 our team of staff namely; Dr. Peace Buhwamatsiko Tumuheki, Ph.D., Dr. Ephraim Lemmy Nuwagaba, Ph.D., and Mr. Garuzooka John Francis developed a special needs training of trainers’ manual and modules on psychosocial support and financial literacy for military veterans and officers for Ministry of Defense and Veteran Affairs, Uganda.

Non-formal Adult Learning & Community Education Strategy for Uganda, 2023: Our staff Dr. Ephraim Lemmy Nuwagaba, Ph.D., was the Lead Consultant on the project, funded by DVV International in Uganda.
